About Us

BC is a pretty big place and if you're going anywhere there's probably a drive involved. Our family has embarked on a number of road trips in this great province of ours but we always found we had to look in many places find all the road trip info we needed.

There are a lot of great resources out there of awesome places to visit but there was some things we just wanted to know as we traveled with young children. For example, Google Maps is great but wouldn't it be nice if it calculated trip time taking into account little bladders and weak stomachs? Where can our kids get some run off, where are the indoor and outdoor places to play? Would everyone be better off holding it for another 5 minutes so you can use a washroom that doesn't look like a crime scene? These are questions we could only figure out by trial and error.

What you will find on this site is a collection of our family's trip notes as we build up a catalog of information we find useful and we hope your family will too. What we have done is taken detailed notes along our drives starting from recognizable landmarks (I would really like to know what part of down the MOT signs measure distance to) and marked how far along each route the needed stops are. Of particular concern for us is where are the bathrooms and where is a good spot to stop for a break because there's nothing worse than stopping at that rest stop with the pit toilets on the side of the highway to find a beautiful park 5 minutes down the road.

We are in Northern BC and so many of our trips will measure things from Prince George because of its centrality. We will build and refine this site as our adventures grow.

If you have suggestions for us, please drop us a line!
